50 Cent is building a secret mansion in Africa, despite filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US. The ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper showed off his luxurious new house last night, posting a video of the almost-completed construction to Instagram.
Curtis Jackson, AKA 50 Cent, captioned the post: “My crib is almost finished in AFRICA. I’m gonna have the craziest House warming party ever.”
The video shows workmen sweeping up by a pool outside the mansion but gives few clues to its location. “I’ll explain later,” Jackson said. “I got a good life Man.”
The Grammy-award winning rapper filed for bankruptcy in the wake of a jury ruling that ordered him to pay five million US dollars to a woman who is suing him over a leaked sex tape. Jackson claimed that the bankruptcy was a “strategic business move”.
As recently as May, Forbes estimated that 50 cent’s net worth amounted to $155m. Chapter 11 bankruptcy protects businesses from creditors’ demands by giving them time to re-organise their finances – so maybe 50 Cent is planning on charging people to gain entry into the house warming party?
