Elephants are one of my favourite animals to photograph. Unlike many others they show such emotion and personality without really doing anything. There’s something about just looking into an elephant’s eyes and seeing their beauty and soul. I followed this herd in the Pilanesberg, South Africa, for around an hour watching and observing their interactions, which I think is incredible. For me, they are so human like in their characters, caring for the little ones all together, mourning when one of them dies and displaying happiness when they are…well happy! Be sure to keep checking up on my blog for the next photo safari to Pilanesberg where you’ll get to see this herd in action, doing what elephants do best.
