This young female leopard was spotted early one morning in light rain at Motswari Private Game Reserve, in South Africa’s Timbavati. She had killed a red-billed quelea (bird) and was happily playing with it, while posing nicely for the cameras.
Like most cats, leopards are opportunistic killers and often appear to kill for fun, playing with their “prey” afterwards for considerable periods of time.
