An amazing moment of compassion and care between two very distinct animals of the African bush! Who would have thought this could ever happen?

Out of all the wildlife footage I have ever seen, this one would most definitely top my list! The “Battle at Kruger” video as well as “Christian the Lion” are also part of my all time favs, and you can find them in my “Top 10 Most Amazing Animals” post if you haven’t seen it yet! ;)

I have sometimes heard that animals do not have feelings nor do they feel pain. Well for all those skeptics out there, just watch this video…and give me a shout about what YOU feel at the end of the clip! I don’t even know if words can describe/explain what you’re about to see…simply astonishing and touching moments!

Even wildlife specialists and conservationists are flabbergasted by such a unique scene!

Enjoy ;) :) !

Stop the Serengeti Highway – Is a Road more Important than the Lives of Two Million Animals?

Africa's Iconic Animals Under Threat!

Africa’s Iconic Animals Under Threat!

While the world’s media spotlight is firmly focused on South Africa’s ongoing battle with rhino poaching, threats to some of the sub-continent’s other critically endangered and threatened species are largely being ignored. It is a little known fact that poaching is not the major cause of concern when it comes ...

Playing Hide and Seek with the Animals!

Playing Hide and Seek with the Animals!

Jambo rafiki! As you may already know, I’m currently in South Africa where I just got back from the bush in Pilanesberg National Park. Instead of giving you my typical “safari destinations tips”, I thought I’d do it a little differently this time. That is to say, expect to see lots ...

It’s very touching. I think it’s easier for humans to say animals don’t have feelings or feel pain because it’s easier to accept all of the nasty things we do to them.

I’d be curious to see if this particular hippo had any more acts of compassion or if this were a one-off event.

Spot on Anil, I like your thinking! ;)

As far as the hippo’s concerned, I believe this is the only time such behaviour was ever captured on camera! But who knows, perhaps the fellow is a regular “super hero” in the area! :) Some kind of “Robin Hood” of the African bush! ;)

It would be very interesting though to study the animal’s activities over time…
