My second morning game drive in the Maasai Mara led to this image of a Zebra (Equus zebra) silhouetted against the rising African sun. Shooting directly into the sun can always produce mixed results, but a slight bit of haze in the air seemed to soften the sun just enough to allow for some retention of shadow details in the Zebra and overall I am very pleased with the resulting image. Myself and the other photographers who I shared a vehicle with all had the very same thought in mind, we were all hoping the Zebra would rear up against that beautiful rising sun, that was not to be and one can keep dreaming.
