Guest Posts

Thanks for your interest in writing for us. Here’s Africa Freak’s conditions to get published:

Topics: African wildlife, people, safari, travel… or others along a similar line.

The content needs to be niche-related and unique (100% original).

We are only interested in evergreen content (that ranks in search engines long-term). Content that educates, adds massive value, and answers questions.

Expertise: We only accept submissions from expert writers who are passionate about wild Africa.

Focus: One strong, authoritative post, covering a topic in-depth. A post that can rank for multiple short, medium, and long-tail keywords.

According to Ahrefs, “a solid way to write long posts is to search for the topic that you want to write about and condense all the information that the top 5-10 results present, that way you will provide the most information out all of your competitors allowing you to outrank them.”

“Writing content for SEO purposes is a lot simpler than it looks. The main goal of any post you write should be to provide as much valuable information as possible. If you do this, Google will take care of the rest (high rankings).”

Another way is to look at the major long-tail keyword searches for any given topic (especially questions people are searching for). Then you can come up with all the answers in one long post.

Format (Examples):

  • Guides (Ultimate/Practical/Complete Guide to…).
  • Lists (Top X, All You Need to Know About…).
  • Questions (Why is…).
  • Comparison Type (X vs Y).
  • Facts and DYK’s (Did You Know…).
  • How To’s.

Structure: Short sentences and paragraphs (3-4 lines per paragraph). Subheadings for clear structure and word flow.

Length: 2000+ words.

Don’t count characters. Make characters count.

Write copy for humans. Not computers. 😉

Delivery: .docx. But please do NOT include any images in the .docx. If you have stock images/screenshots, send them as attachments via email.

Quality: The article must be the very best for its topic online.

Good article = unique, entertaining and educational.

Self-promotion = not an option.

Images: All images must be 1000px wide and optimised. Moreover, they must have written permission or a license (stock photos). If they don’t, we won’t accept the article.

Links: Please source everything with outbound links. In fact, if you do solid research, there should be 5+ outbound links referencing your work. NB: Promoted links are nofollow (and niche-related only).

Reserve the Right to Refuse: Your article submission is a submission. It’s not a sure thing. We reserve the right to refuse it or require revisions.

Affiliate Links: Please do NOT include affiliate links. FYI, we may add our own affiliate links to the article.

Copyright: You agree that copyright passes entirely to AfricaFreak.com.

Contact Info: Contact us at info[at]africafreak.com to get the ball rolling.

We look forward to working with you. 🙂
