Female impala with “horns”

In this footage, from the Timbavati Private Game Reserve in South Africa, we see one of the rarest sightings ever made on a game drive in the African bush – a female impala, or ewe, with horns!

Normally, only impala rams have horns, but it is thought that a hormonal imbalance caused this particular impala ewe, who could have been pregnant at the time, to grow small horns similar to those of a young impala ram.
